What a slacking dip

“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” Bueller
Labor Day, a refreshing release from the daily grind. A whole day! What shall we do?
Party, of course! From such a spontaneous day of nothingness, a good time materializes.
But not with too much effort. We shan’t “labor” on Labor Day. What a way to miss the spirit of this Ferris-Bueller-esque holiday.
So without much exertion, I offer this yummy recipe for taco dip. It takes about five minutes (maybe ten) to throw together, but makes a most impressive centerpiece.
Taco Dip
Ingredients:
2 cans of refried beans
1 pound of shredded cheddar or taco-flavored cheese
Sour cream
Salsa
Lettuce
Chopped black olives
Chopped onions
Tortilla chips
Instructions:
Spread the refried beans in a 9 x 13 microwaveable dish.
Microwave according to directions.
On top of the beans, spread some sour cream.
Then spread some salsa.
On top of the salsa, sprinkle most of the shredded cheese (save a little).
Top the dish with chopped or shredded lettuce.
Sprinkle the rest of the cheese on top.
Decorate with dainty dollops of sour cream and salsa.
Add black olives and onions.
Place a bowl of tortilla chips nearby to accompany the masterpiece. That’s it!
Wishing you a lovely lazy Labor Day brimming with good friends…
and taco dip.
